Another amazing trip to Palomar Mountain but I think I am just about out of trails to explore up there! The last time Brandon and I hiked together on Palomar it was completely foggy. I was really excited to share with him just how incredibly gorgeous it is without the fog.
Brandon and I have both been watching tutorials on how to get the most out of our awesome cameras. I was really excited to take my camera out of auto for this trip and just see what I could do on my own. Full disclosure, I was not entirely on my own. I used the aperture priority setting for this entire trip. I wanted to get a feel for setting the aperture on my own without having to worry about the shutter speed and ISO at the same time. Baby steps. I am so proud of the photographs I took today that I decided not to put them into collages like I normally do. 🙂
I recorded pretty much the entire hike on my GoPro. It was very funny watching back the video of us spouting what we had watched in a photography video, helping each other find settings on our camera, making up random songs and singing together! 😉
The only bummer part of this trip was that when we got towards the end of the French Valley trail there was a barricade preventing us from continuing to the water feature of the trail. They have it closed at the end for land rehabilitation. Hopefully I will get a chance to come back and visit when it is open again.
Until next time…happy trails!
